Five things I saw today that I either liked or hated....

So, my writing prompt from today was "Describe five things you saw that you didn't like, and a couple you did like. I am also timed on this prompt. so the clock starts now.

When I woke up earlier today, my dad was babysitting my cute little niece, Sophie, and they were playing a cute little game I bought for Elliot and me to play when Elliot was between three and six years old. I don't know if my dad was letting her win, but she kept winning, and her laugh was so funny, and so sweet.

I have been going in and donating plasma so that I can make a few extra bucks so that when I take Elliot to Disneyland in January, I will have a little nest egg of money for food and to let Elliot build a little Star Wars Droid at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland, but the thing I hate most about that place is when they stick the needle in your arm, and even though it hurts for under a second, it still has a nasty sting. I am getting used to it now, but I hate that feeling, and it stresses me out. They tell me to look away from them putting the needle in my arm, but to be honest, as much as I hate watching it, I would rather know it's coming, over looking the other way, and still having it sting me, but in a surprise type of way.

Another thing I saw that I liked was Disney+ has their National Geographic section of movies and shows. They have an amazing Documentary called "The Rescue". It's about an hour and a half long, and it is about the small 13 children soccer team in Thailand a couple of years ago. If you don't know about it, 12 players and their teenage coach went into a cave to explore. They got in really far, and then water from the heavy rains trapped them deep into the cave. They didn't know how to get them out, and instead of calling the Thailand Navy, they called some people who cave dive and scuba dive for a hobby, to go and see what they could find. The cave was super dark, and the water was murky, and it took them ten days to find the boys, and all 13 of them were alive, however, the monsoon season was quickly approaching, and the only way to get the boys out, as a last ditch effort, where they had to give the boys shots of anesthesia, put them to sleep, put scuba gear on them, and drag and push them out. All 13 survived, but one of the Thai Navy SEALs they called in lost his life because of the lack of oxygen from the cave. The film is brilliant, and on the edge of your seat anxiously hoping the boys would get out alive.

I had my critic screening for Steven Spielberg's West Side Story remake, and it was awesome. I loved it, and even liked things better than the original one from 1961. However, the original was rated G, and this one is PG-13 for language, the violence is stronger, and just the overall themes of the film. I can't say anything more about it until I do my official review tomorrow. Sometimes critics have to wait until a certain day, and time, called an embargo, before they can release their full reviews, but I really liked it, and my review and podcast episode will go into some of the details.

I guess I had a pretty good day because I only had one bad thing to say. I am at four, but I have one more. I really love dogs, and we have a Shih-Tzu named Winston. He's so funny, and like, our last dog, Duncan, who was a weenie dog, and acted like a grumpy old man, and didn't like me to pet him, lol, Winston is like my long lost brother that loved me so much, and there is nothing better than coming home from somewhere, with a sweet, hysterical dog there to greet you and pet and play with for a minute. Dogs are truly man's best friend, and Winston is a great example of that. He also knows when I am feeling sad, or frustrated, and he is always a great comfort. He is almost three years old now, so I hope I have a few more years of feeling loved and missed, even if I just went to the grocery store.

Well, that's it. I still have fifteen seconds left, but I got everything I wanted to say out. If any of you read this, Thank You. The prompt idea is to get me thinking in a whole new way, or notice the small things I take for granted, and help make me a better writer. So, thanks again, and I will be back soon with another thrilling prompt writing...maybe.
